The highlight of the press conference was the announcement of the main draw, which features six top-10 players, including Jessica Pegula, Jasmine Paolini, Zheng Qinwen, and Emma Navarro.

The 2024 Ningbo Open is set to take place from October 12 to 20 at the Ningbo (Yinzhou) Tennis Center, with the opening two days reserved for the qualifying rounds. This year’s prize pool has surged to $922,573, with both the singles and doubles champions poised to collect 500 ranking points. The tournament will feature 28 spots in the main draw for singles, 24 for qualifying, and 16 for doubles.

With the year-end finals in Riyadh fast approaching, the 2024 Ningbo Open presents a prime opportunity for top-ranked players looking to close out the season on a high note. Athletes from over 30 countries and regions have entered the competition, including 19 players from the world’s top 30, six of whom currently hold top-10 rankings.

According to the tournament’s entry rules, the top 17 players in the world rankings will automatically earn spots in the singles main draw. An additional player will receive a special exemption based on their performance in the week preceding the event. The lineup will be rounded out by four wildcard entries—one of which has already been confirmed—and six players who advance through the qualifying rounds. The final list of qualifiers is anticipated to be announced in late September.

The tournament is organized under the auspices of the Tennis Sports Management Center of the General Administration of Sport of China and the Ningbo Municipal Government. It is hosted by the Ningbo Sports Bureau and the Yinzhou District People’s Government, with Huifeng Sports, a subsidiary of Ningbo Yincheng Group, handling the actual organization.
