"I am delighted to be able to stay and work in China, especially in Ningbo." On December 9, at the Exit and Entry Administration Hall of the Yinzhou District Public Security Bureau, Jack, an international student from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China (UNNC), received his work visa for China.
He will soon be working as a medical assistant in a hospital in Ningbo, responsible for international business development.
In addition to Jack from the UK, four other outstanding international graduates from UNNC will receive their work visas in the next two weeks to start their new lives in China.
"At UNNC, I was able to experience the novelty of living in China while continuing to receive the British education I was used to." In 2023, driven by his longing for China, Jack applied to UNNC's master's program in business analytics.
"The university provides international students with various services to help them integrate into campus life and the local community, including political guidance, cultural experiences, Chinese language classes, and courses on Chinese culture," said Huang Huanhuan, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office at UNNC.
Over the course of the year, Jack participated in various activities organized by UNNC and gained a deep understanding of the local social landscape. In the process, he deeply felt the comfort of Chinese society, the warmth and hospitality of the people, and the rapid development of the country, which confirmed his desire to stay in China.
In 2024, through the recommendations of friends and his own outstanding professional background and skills, Jack successfully secured a job opportunity at Yinzhou No.2 Hospital. He even turned down a more lucrative job offer in the UK to stay in China.
As the graduation season approaches, the relevant departments at UNNC often receive numerous inquiries from international students about employment and entrepreneurship. With support from various parties, Gloria, Tiffany, Christian from Indonesia, and Pardis from Iran have successfully stayed and worked in Ningbo this year.
